Ames Pyramid in Laramie, Wyoming
After reading about the Ames Pyramid in my book Roadside America, I definitely wanted to stop here. Unfortunately, their directions were for s#$% and I kept driving and kept driving and never found the exit. Of course, it would've been helpful if they'd given the exit number rather than simply saying "Look for the Vedauwood Recreation Area and Ames Memorial exit. Head south and east on the dirt road." What's up with that? They did this with the Lincoln Memorial as well along I-80. Luckily, they planted the thing right next to the interstate so I easily found it. FYI it's Exit 323. Here are a couple photos from other people who managed to find it.

As you can see in the last photo, there's not much going on there. But it's a good chance to stop, use the restroom, walk the dogs, stretch your legs and gaze at a really big head of ol' Honest Abe.
I'd planned on having dinner at the Iron Skillet Restaurant which is located within the Petro Truck
Stop along I-80 (exit 310), but the speed limit along there is like 75 so I zipped right by and was
80 miles down the road before I realized it. This was another place that had been highly recommended
on several truck driving websites so I'm sure the food is quite good. Rats!
