Giraffe Training: By using rewards (food treats) rather than punishment, animals can be encouraged to complete training
manoeuvers. Here, a giraffe is offered treats to walk into the chute. This in itself is a big step as
the narrow chute must seem very scary for the giraffe. After becoming accustomed to walking into the
chute, he'll be trained to accept it being closed behind him. Eventually, a veterinarian will be able
to examine him in an enclosed space.
